Saturday Sunset in the Garden

Last night just as the sun was setting over the cityscape I checked in on the garden.  After adding food scraps and shredded newspaper to the compost I watered the seedlings.  Two boys were riding their bikes along Stagg St Walk and stopped to ask questions about the garden; they were easily persuaded to help water the plants.  The boys' father quizzed them on their knowledge of the garden and my watering strategy, and the boys were excited when they had the right answers to his questions.  Thanks to the boys and their father for their help and their interest!

I left the garden with a small bag of trash and the pleasant feeling derived from the knowledge that people in the community were already enjoying the garden space.
